To any and all – those who have heard about Jessie and those who have not, thank you for reading on.
There is a lot of information following. Some of it you may know, some may be repeated but I have taken several different emails and put them all together so you can get the idea of how big Jessie's case is getting, but how much bigger it needs to get. We need to have everyone know who Jessie Foster is. We need to find her and bring her home. We need to make people aware of Jessie and that she is missing, and that her case is being investigated as a kidnapping/human trafficking case by the ATLAS Task Force. And we need to let people know that we have a reward we keep building, and we need to raise money to do a lot of this.

My name is Glendene Grant and my daughter; Jessica Edith Louise Foster has been missing since March 29th, 2006. She simply vanished from Las Vegas after living there for 10 months. (Jessie is a Canadian Citizen.)
I have been working hard to keep Jessie's story alive, so it does not become a cold case with the police or be forgotten in the media and by all the people.
I am going to include several emails with this one, so you can learn about Jessie and her disappearance, this would be much better than me trying to explain everything.
Our website is at: www.jessiefoster.ca and our latest thing is that US Customs denied me going to Las Vegas (it would have been my 4th trip to the US in 8 months - 2 prior trips to Las Vegas and 1 to New York for the Montel Williams show in April). If there is anything you can do for me in my search for Jessie, I would appreciate it so much. These past 14+ months have been so very hard. Jessie has 3 other sisters who are hurting so much...so many people miss her and want her back.
Her case went from a Missing Persons case with the N Las Vegas Police & the RCMP, to ATLAS (Anti-Trafficking League Against Slavery) in Las Vegas and the Serious Crimes Division with the RCMP. On Friday I got an email from Solicitor General John Les, on May 31st, 2007, he received my email from the Honourable Gordon Campbell, Premier - who I emailed April 27th, 2007. S.G. Les told me he is ensuring that everything that can be done is being done. He has already checked that files are open with the correct departments within our government and wants to set up a face-to-face meeting with the Police in Vegas and the Consular Affairs Bureau in Ottawa.
I sure hope this email is not too overwhelming, as I have so much information to share with people who may be able to help me.

Dear Ms. Grant:
The Honourable Gordon Campbell, Premier, has forwarded me your April 25, 2007 e-mail outlining the facts surrounding the disappearance of your daughter, Ms. Jessica Foster, and the steps you have taken to locate her. I want to take this opportunity to express my concern for you and your family’s situation and my admiration with respect to your tenacity in following up with both private and public sector organizations in your search for your daughter.
As you are no doubt aware, the jurisdictional responsibility for the investigation involving your missing daughter remains with the North Las Vegas Police Department and perhaps other United States (US) Law Enforcement Agencies, depending on the nature of their investigation files. You are also no doubt aware that Foreign Affairs Canada represents Canadians that travel out of the country and is the government body that supports these individuals should there be an issue. Having acknowledged the role of both US law enforcement and Foreign Affairs Canada, I wanted to ensure that you have the support of these agencies. I have asked my Ministry staff to contact the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Foreign Affairs Canada to ascertain the status of their current investigation files and determine if the Province of British Columbia could provide assistance in locating your daughter.
The RCMP confirmed the Las Vegas Police Department has contacted them about your missing daughter and they have provided, and will continue to provide, assistance to the Las Vegas Police Department for any request that is made with respect to the missing person investigation. Foreign Affairs Canada has also confirmed they have an open file and will continue to provide support for you and your family.
In order to ensure all is being done at the investigation level in the United States, I have taken the liberty of writing to the Consular Affairs Bureau in Ottawa and asked them to consider a face-to-face meeting/discussion with the North Las Vegas Police Department to ensure that law enforcement agency is treating the file with the respect it deserves and that they are actively involved in investigating your daughter’s disappearance.
I have also asked the RCMP to look at their National Policy on the Handling of Out of Country Missing Canadian Person Cases. I wanted the RCMP to ensure they provide all the necessary support to other law enforcement agencies and to ensure everything is being done in this country to aid in that support.
I hope that my involvement will have a positive effect on the investigation and that you and your family are successful in locating Jessica. I want to thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

THE LATEST THING TO HAPPEN:
Hi everyone...these have been the worst couple of days in a while. I was denied border crossing on this trip. I have been to the USA 3 times! The 4th time I get denied. Plus, before getting to the airport, my luggage fell out of my friend Brenda's truck, and I was freaking out that I lost it. Luckily, someone found it and called my home in Kamloops and left a message. We called and went back to Burnaby where we lost it. It was unreal, I thought I was going to have to go to Las Vegas without shorts, pants or tops plus my news article binder and posters were also in that suitcase. I would have had only socks & underwear from my smaller suitcase for the trip.
But we got it back, then we went to the airport and I was put into secondary inspection (this happened on my trip to New York because I did not have my destination address for the New Yorker Hotel, and I had to call the Montel show to get it - but did not happen on either of the 2 previous trips to LV).
I am not sure why I was put into secondary inspection this time, because we had all our destination info and if it was because of my record (from an incident that happened on April 4th, 1986, with nothing at all ever since then - young people take note, it follows you no matter what), it is the same record that I have had for over 21 years and it did not stop them from letting me into the USA any of the 3 other times. Plus, for several years I had a security license from Security Programs Division of British Columbia when I worked for Kanstop ADT Security Services. I had to get a record check and apply for my security license, all without any issues.
Anyways, because it was too late to talk to someone about this, we were told to come back the next day for an appointment with Chief Lundy. Luckily, the airlines told us they had rebooked us for the 2:10 pm flight the next day, because customs was not letting us get on our plane. We went back the next day at 10:30 am, giving us almost 4 hours until our flight. For 3 ½ hours I was in secondary inspection, then I was again, denied boarding. I asked to speak to the head person, who was Chief Patricia Lundy (the same person I was told was supposed to talk to me anyways) and from her body language I knew instantly that she was not going to be reasonable, and I was right. She flat out denied me entry, telling me that there was no way I was going to get across, because I have a record. I told her, "Ok", (I had to, there was no choice), "but this was really not fair...because the USA is allowing the likes of Peter Todd to stay there, and he is not even a citizen, and he is connected to convicted prostitutes and a missing girl, and you are denying me entry because of a 21-year-old record when I want to go there ONLY because my child is missing in the USA".
She said to me, (and I tell you, I will never forget how she made me feel), "Did your daughter choose to go to Las Vegas?" And I said, "Yes, she went there for her 21st birthday." And she said, "Well, then she made the choice, didn't she?" WOW - I still feel shaky just typing this. This came from another woman, possibly a mother or grandmother, possibly an aunt...but mostly, she was the highest ranking officer at the Vancouver International Airport USA Customs Office!
I told her I wanted to her name and contact info to a superior to lodge a complaint against her for her unprofessional conduct. This was totally uncalled for. She told me I had to leave the building instantly. I asked her officers (she is in charge of them all) for her name and contact info...none of them spoke to me. One of them (Officer Yodder) handed me a pamphlet, which we later saw to be a complaint form, but none of them said a word.
I asked again for this info and she started to call out, "RCMP, RCMP" and 4 officers rushed over to where we were standing. Brenda and I were just standing quietly there and she was loudly saying, "Take them out of here." One of them asked what happened, and no one said anything, so I said, "I asked for her superiors contact info and her name to lodge a complaint for her telling me my missing daughter is at fault for her own disappearance."
The police did not know what to think, so they told me that I could get this info at the Vancouver International Airport website and that we were to go with Constable Aaron Penner, of the Vancouver RCMP. As we were going out the doors from secondary inspection, another officer came up to us and said, "The reason you were denied entry was because you are going there to work." WHAT?? Brenda (who had not said anything up to now) said, "Our job now is to find Jessie, so if that is working...then yes."
I have a job that I cannot even work at, like I am going to the USA - to Las Vegas no less, to work. UNLESS...hmmm, what kind of work did he mean? I still cannot comprehend how this all happened.
Cst. Penner was so considerate. He listened to our complete story of Jessie being missing, my 4th trip to the USA in 7 or 8 months (in my entire life). He took our card with website and my phone number. He is going to find out what this is all about...about why they denied me now and never before. And how the Chief could speak to me this way.
So needless to say, the tickets for the trip (airline and hotel), which were non-cancellation and non-refundable are sitting on my desk. I was hoping there was someone I could contact from where we purchased the tickets and plead with them for a refund or at least to have the tickets kept valid for a year or whatever, so this money is not wasted.
Anyways, if anyone reading this email is able to assist us in ANY way...PLEASE contact me. We need to get back to Las Vegas - if we are not there, they will start to forget about her. We cannot have that happening.

TV: A new CTV News show called “Legal Justice” on the ‘All News Channel’ (news.net on evenings 9-10 pm Eastern, 6-7 pm Pacific time), one of the most watched news channels in Canada. I spoke with Jenny Wells for a long time on the phone and she is calling me back on Thursday, June 7th, 2007 to set up an interview about Jessie’s disappearance and the trouble with the border. This is a Justice Affairs program and this show will be about Pardons needed to get into the USA – perfect, maybe this is the help I need.
I have had some wonderful, supportive emails about this issue, and without posting last names or email addresses; I am going to put these comments from our friends on our website. There are also some messages there from me, detailing everything that happened in the Customs Office and about my record from 1987 (it was so long ago, I have already mistakenly said it was in 1986).
Also, I have mentioned on our site that I have received a very supportive email from Solicitor General, John Les. It is looking like our long wait to have our Canadian Government help us is over. Thank you, Mr. Les.

LETTER ABOUT MY RECORD THAT I PUT IN OUR GUEST BOOK FOR OUR SUPPORTERS TO READ:
I want to tell you about my record, it was a bad time for me, I had a friend staying at my house in Calgary who got arrested for a small amount of both pot & cocaine (I did not know he was like that) until the police came there for him. He was not there that night, but his bag was, with drugs in it. The police charged me for his drugs, telling me that he will come forward...that no man could leave a young, single mother of 3 to take the trouble for him. He turned out not to be a good friend, obviously. He never came back.
Because at the time I was a single mother of 3 little girls, living in Calgary with my family living here in Kamloops, my parents got a lawyer here, went to Calgary and moved me here, buying this same house I am living in right now. It will be 20 years since I moved into this house on June 29, 2007. I do not have any other family or friends in Kamloops or pretty well everywhere, besides my dad, that has lived in the same house for 20 years or more. Raising not only 3, but 4 daughters here.
After moving here, our lawyer did lots of checking and background work on this case, he did not want me to end up over my head in trouble with this. He found that it would be better for us to move the case to Kamloops from Calgary, but that would mean pleading guilty and being sentenced here. A small city like Kamloops, BC is more laid back with something's than a huge city like Calgary, Alberta, and this was one of them.
When we went to court and the Judge heard the entire story, he wanted to ensure that I did not end up with this ruining my life. He saw the support my family gave me and that I had 3 small children - and was a single mother. He postponed everything until he had the chance to look up what was the smallest possible sentence he could give me, without Calgary possibly appealing his decision if it was to lenient. He found that there was one very low sentence of 45 days of weekends. That is what he sentenced me to - telling me he was sorry for all this and wishing me luck. It was very traumatic, but it was over 20 years ago, and it has not ever been an issue to my life until now. As I mentioned before - I was a licensed security person for several years.
I have been given the contact info for the Public Affairs Officer for US Customs & Border Protection in Chicago, and she is calling Washington to find out what can be done to possibly help us with this issue. I am to call her back on Monday morning (June 4th).

HERE IS THE EMAIL I HAVE SENT OUT TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE (INCLUDING MR. GORDON CAMPBELL) WITH A LOT OF DIFFERENT INFORMATION:
My name is Glendene Grant. My daughter, Jessie Foster has been a missing person now for over 1 year (since March 29th, 2006).
So much has happened, but the latest is that I have been denied entry to the USA on my 4th trip there (Las Vegas: Oct '06 / Las Vegas: Jan '07 / New York City: Apr '07). They say it is because I have a record that is over 20 years old, but the thing is, I have had that record on every trip so far. I have never wanted to go to the USA at any other time of my life, until my daughter went missing there. Now they won't let me back there.
When I was at Vancouver International Airport on Monday, May 28th, 2007, I was told to come back on the next day, Tuesday, May 29th to speak to Chief Patricia Lundy of US Customs. We went back there with plenty of time to catch our 2:10pm flight (we got there at 10:45am). After a long wait, before and after my turn came, I finally got to speak to the Chief. She then asked me if Jessie chose to go to Las Vegas, to which I answered, yes, she went there for her 21st birthday. She then proceeded to tell me, well - then, she made the choice that lead to this. I asked, are you saying Jessie is to fault for being a victim of kidnapping & human trafficking. To which she told me I was being kicked out of the airport.
She called for the RCMP to escort me and my friend, Brenda Rose, who was accompanying me to Las Vegas, out of the building. The 4 RCMP officers, who came over at Chief Lundy's commands, asked what was the problem. Chief Lundy did not answer them, so I said, all I wanted was her superior's contact info and her full name, so I could lodge a formal complaint against her for her personal opinions about that Jessie's being missing was her own fault.
The officers were not sure what to think or say, they told me that I could go to the Vancouver International Airport's website and find the link to complain on there. We started to leave the building and another Customs Officer walked up to us and said, the reason we are being denied entry, is because I am going there to work, to which Brenda responded, if you consider our searching a job, then I suppose that is working. As you can imagine that is ridiculous...going there to work?? What the world did he mean by that?
INFORMATION ABOUT JESSIE:
She was living in Las Vegas, NV (we are from Kamloops, BC and her dad is from Calgary, AB Canada, where Jessie lived with him from 16 years old for grades 11 & 12). Jessie was living in Las Vegas from May 13th, 2005 until March 28th, 2006, which was the last time we ever heard from her. Also since that time, her cell phone, credit cards, bank account & bankcard have not been touched. Ever.
I have been in contact with many advocates for missing people and their families, and I have tried to get as much media attention as possible, because as everyone knows, you need to let the public know about missing people in hopes someone sees their face and remembers something that can be of help to find them.
I am booked for June 8th, 2007 to do an interview for The Jason Project podcast, with Kelly Jolkowski. This will be available online.
I got an email today, June 5th, 2007, from the Drug War Chronicle that deals with customs denying people border crossing. They want to do an interview about Jessie’s disappearance and me being denied entry into the USA. Also, I got a call from the Edmonton Sun Newspaper to do another interview.
On June 4th, 2007, CFJC TV7 news (our local station) did an interview about this whole issue. Also, I got a call from Cherise Miles, Public Affairs Officer for the US Customs & Border Protection and Officer Brett Sturgeon. We had a 40-minute phone call about this whole issue of my denial at the border and the attitude of Chief Patricia Lundy (YVR). On June 3rd, 2007 there was as story in the Vancouver Province Newspaper about me being denied entry to the USA to continue my search for Jessie (more info in the article, link below and by going to our site: www.jessiefoster.ca and reading everything in a Guest Book message from me).
Also, on June 3rd, 2007, there were 2 radio stations that did interviews with me, News 1130 in Vancouver with Andrea McPherson and for the 5th time since Jessie’s disappearance, I was in the Crime & Punishment radio show with Mike McIntyre.
On June 2nd, 2007 there was a story in the Kamloops Daily Newspaper about being denied entry to the USA. The link to this will be available on our website soon.
On May 17th, 2007 I got an email from Court TV about doing a story on Jessie, I am waiting for more info on this, but hopefully this will happen. Also, a writer for Crime Watch Canada magazine has contacted me; they also want to do a story about Jessie. I will let you know more about these as I learn more.
On April 18th, 2007, I was in New York City for a taping of a Montel Williams show about human trafficking, which included Jessie’s story. It was aired May 24th, 2007 for the 1st time.
Also, Jessie was featured on the Geraldo at Large show on April 27th, 2006; her poster was shown & her story mentioned on the Maury Povich show on October 11th, 2006 (plus several repeats); had 2 consecutive news broadcast shows on Global National News (National here in Canada) with Kevin Newman. It was advertised all Superbowl weekend, across Canada on Global TV, & there was even a commercial about Jessie's disappearance & upcoming story the following Monday, February 5th & Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 that played during Superbowl halftime; has been on the local TV news several times; in many newspapers - including an article in the Globe & Mail on April 4th, 2007; on many missing persons websites; websites dedicated to her; on blogs; several radio shows, such as Mike on Crime, a Canadian National radio show (3 times to date); Missing Pieces, an American radio show February 6th, 2007; CFUN, a Vancouver, BC radio show (2 times to date); we were on talk radio 630CHED “Primo” (www.ched.com) with Lesley Primeau in Edmonton, AB, April 18th, 2007 (the interview was done from my room at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City while I was there for the Montel show taping); on April 20th, 2007 I was on CBC Radio for a live interview; I am not sure of what day, but next week we will be on the Calgary, AB radio show 770CHQR AM with Greg Bohnet, we taped the interview on May 15th, 2007; and we have been many, many times on the local radio stations in Kamloops.
But we have yet to get her talked about by everyone like they talk about Lacy Peterson, Elizabeth Smart, or Natalee Holloway, (who as we know, just like Jessie - went to another country and went missing). Her family has a one million dollar reward and our family, from over 1 year of fundraising [mostly from dinners, raffle draws, bottle drives, yard sales & donations] has been able to raise a $10,000 reward, (hardly seems fair for Jessie, don’t you agree?).
I still want Jessie's story to be featured on America's Most Wanted, Nancy Grace and the Oprah Winfrey show. There are many American magazines & shows I want to get Jessie's missing story in or on. I pray, hope & wish for that.
Even though it looks like we have done a lot in our search for my missing daughter, Jessie – we have not…as you can tell, we have not got her back yet, so the search is still on and still as strong as ever. Stronger even, as I believe Jessie is still alive and in need of being rescued. I believe she is a victim of human trafficking and the Las Vegas police and the ATLAS Task Force of Las Vegas also think that it may be a possibility.
